Egg Freezing Seminar Allows Women to Pause the Biological Clock for Age, Social or Medical Reasons

Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine invites women to attend a discussion and social gathering on March 30 to learn more about egg freezing. Build your family when the time is right for you.

Atlanta, Georgia (PRWEB) March 05, 2015

Considering egg freezing? Atlanta Center for Reproductive Medicine (ACRM), Atlanta’s top fertility practice, is holding an informational event on March 30, where women can learn how to proactively plan for future families with egg freezing.

What: Egg Freezing Cocktail Hour
Where: Yebo Restaurant, Phipps Plaza, 3500 Peachtree Rd, Atlanta, GA

Time: 5:30 - 7:30 PM
Date: Monday, March 30, 2015
Cost: Free, but RSVP required. Register here!

In response to the growing egg freezing trend and curiosity among women in their late 20s and early 30s, ACRM offers egg freezing or vitrification services to allow women to proactively plan for the future and to essentially pause the biological clock.

Egg Freezing refers to the process whereby a mature egg, retrieved from the ovary following several days of hormone stimulation, is cryopreserved. ACRM uses a state-of-the-art technique called vitrification rather than actual “freezing” to protect the egg and increase the success rate of future pregnancy.

There are many reasons why a woman may want to freeze her eggs; whether it’s because they are not at the right time in their life to start their family, concern over their age and the effect on fertility, or a medical condition.

The discussion will be led by Dr. Robin Fogle, a board certified reproductive endocrinologist. The event will include a presentation and an in-depth discussion of female fertility and egg freezing. Possible topics include the egg freezing process, affording egg freezing, and what to consider when making your decision to freeze.

“Egg freezing is a very personal decision,” Dr. Fogle said. “It is important for patients to know that egg freezing is not a guarantee of future pregnancy, but is rather an insurance policy. As with most insurance policies, one hopes to never use it.”
